Weather: Meltemia winds and chance of rain this weekend

Mild weather is expected this weekend with meltemia winds and temperatures near normal for the season. Today the temperature will reach 35 degrees Celsius, while tomorrow there will be a slight drop and there is a possibility of local rains in the west, mainly mountainous areas.

In Attica, sunshine is expected with north winds of 2 to 4 Beaufort and the temperature in the center of Athens will range from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius. In the Thessaloniki region, sunshine is expected with variable winds up to 3 Beaufort and the temperature in the center of Thessaloniki will range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.

On Sunday, generally clear weather is expected with temporary clouds in the mainland, mainly in the west, where local rains or showers are likely to occur in the mountains. The winds will blow from northern directions, in the west 3 to 5, in the east 4 to 6 and in the Aegean after noon locally 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly and will reach 31 to 33 degrees Celsius in the mainland, 29 to 31 in the Ionian, eastern Aegean islands and Crete, and 26 to 28 degrees Celsius in the Cyclades.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature in the Peloponnese reached 36 °C.
