Weather: Gale-Force Winds in the Aegean – Temperatures Up to 37 Degrees

Gale-force northerly winds of up to 8 Beaufort are expected today in the Aegean Sea, according to the National Meteorological Service (EMY). Generally clear weather is forecast for most parts of the country. Local rains or showers will occur in Crete, mainly in the mountains, until the afternoon, and in the northern mainland, mainly mountainous areas, during the midday to afternoon hours.
Winds will blow from northerly directions 4 to 6 and in the Aegean 7, locally 8 Beaufort. The temperature will reach 33 to 36 and locally in the western mainland 37 degrees Celsius, while in the Cyclades, Sporades and northern Crete it will not exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
In Attica, generally clear weather is expected with northerly winds 5 to 6 and in the east 7 and possibly 8 Beaufort. The temperature will reach 34 degrees Celsius.
In Thessaloniki, temporary clouds are forecast with the possibility of local showers in the surrounding mountains in the afternoon. In the evening, an increase in cloud cover is expected again with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms. The winds will be northwesterly 4 to 5 Beaufort and the temperature will reach 33 degrees Celsius.
