China: Truck Driver Rescued After Bridge Collapse

A truck driver was rescued in Guizhou province, China, after the Houzihe bridge collapsed due to heavy rainfall. The incident occurred on June 24th on the Xiarong Expressway.
The truck was left dangling over a ravine, with the driver trapped in the cab. Firefighters and rescue teams stabilized the vehicle using steel cables and mobile platforms, safely extracting the driver.
According to reports, several vehicles ran off the road due to the collapse, with no injuries reported. The rainfall in the region has caused six rivers to overflow and the evacuation of 40,000 residents.
Authorities attribute the bridge collapse to flooding and unstable geological conditions. The situation in Guizhou province remains critical.
