Kostas Karamanlis Visits Imbros, Meets Patriarch Bartholomew

Former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis visited Imbros and met with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Saturday. He was accompanied by his wife, Natassa Pazaïti, former minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, and former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Yannis Valinakis.
Kostas Karamanlis and his entourage attended the Divine Liturgy at the Metropolitan Church of the Virgin Mary. Subsequently, they visited the Patriarch's village, Agioi Theodoroi, where Bartholomew gave them a tour of the "Patriarch Bartholomew" Museum, his paternal home, and the Church of St. George.
They also visited the community cemetery and the elementary school, which is scheduled to be restored.
