Crans Montana: Bar Owners Investigated for Manslaughter

Swiss authorities are investigating the safety standards of a bar in Crans Montana, following an incident that claimed the lives of 4 people. The bar, according to authorities, was hosting over 40 people, including minors.

The bar owners, Jacques Moretto and Jessica Moretto, may face charges of manslaughter if the construction interventions did not meet the required standards. Witnesses report that there was only one exit.

Initial assessments indicate that the fire started from sparks from fireworks on champagne bottles, which ignited the soundproofing on the ceiling. The victims are Swiss nationals aged 16 to 21.
