Lithuania: Prime Minister Resigns Amid Financial Scandals

The Prime Minister of Lithuania, Gintautas Paluckas, has announced his resignation amid an ongoing investigation into potential financial misconduct related to his companies.
The company owned by his sister-in-law allegedly used European Union funds to purchase battery systems from a company partly owned by the Prime Minister himself.
Journalists in Lithuania revealed in May that the company had received a subsidized state loan while its owner was already serving as Prime Minister.
