Madrid: Bar Explosion Kills One, Injures 25

An explosion at a bar in Madrid on Saturday killed one person and injured 25 others, according to Spanish emergency services.

Rescue services confirmed the death of a man, who was found dead in the bar after a search by firefighters with police dogs. The explosion occurred around 15:00 (local time) in the Vallecas district.

According to El Pais newspaper, the explosion occurred in the basement of a residential building near a busy bar. Initially, rescue services reported 25 injured, including three in serious condition.

Spanish media reports suggest the explosion was likely caused by a gas leak. However, Inmaculada Sanz, an official with the Madrid municipal authority, stated that it is too early to determine the exact causes.
