Bondi Beach Massacre: Attack on Jewish Community During Hanukkah

Australia is in mourning after fifteen people were killed in a shooting at a Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach in Sydney. Authorities have declared the attack a terrorist act motivated by antisemitism.
At 6:47 PM local time, New South Wales police responded to reports of gunfire at Archer Park. Two gunmen opened fire from a pedestrian bridge near a playground where the event was taking place.
A bystander, Ahmed al Ahmed, disarmed one of the attackers. Premier Chris Minns called him a 'true hero'.
The victims include a 10-year-old girl, 41-year-old Rabbi Eli Schlanger, an Israeli citizen, and French national Dan Elkayam. A total of 42 people are hospitalized.
The perpetrators were a father and son, aged 50 and 24. The 50-year-old was killed by police gunfire, while the 24-year-old is hospitalized.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the attack an 'act of evil antisemitic hatred'. Hanukkah is one of the most important Jewish holidays.
