Macron to Appoint New Prime Minister in Coming Days

French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to appoint a new prime minister in the coming days, following the collapse of the Bayrou government, which failed to win a vote of confidence in the French National Assembly.

In a statement issued by the Élysée Palace, President Macron will receive Prime Minister François Bayrou to accept the resignation of his government, after failing to secure a vote of confidence due to the austerity budget plan.
