Macron: Vote of Clarity and Responsibility in France

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the upcoming vote in the National Assembly is a “vote of clarity and responsibility.” The statement was made during the two-hour cabinet meeting.
According to sources, Macron delivered an “aggressive speech,” emphasizing the need to consolidate public finances and address challenges. Government spokesperson Sophie Primas stressed that the September 8 vote concerns the diagnosis of the country's situation, not the budget.
Primas reminded that France recorded the highest deficit in the Eurozone in 2024 and called on parliamentarians to show a sense of responsibility. The government states it is open to discussions and modifications.
