Macron: Eurobonds are the Only Way to an Independent Europe

French President Emmanuel Macron argued that issuing common debt through Eurobonds is the 'only way' for the EU to remain competitive against the US and China.

In a speech in Antwerp, Belgium, Macron emphasized the need for massive European investments in space defense, security, clean technologies, artificial intelligence, and quantum mechanics.

Macron also called on 'willing countries' to implement the single European market reforms proposed by the European Commission, even through 'enhanced cooperation' if approval is not reached by the end of June.
