Major Forest Fires in Spain

In northwestern Spain, more than a thousand people have been forced to evacuate their homes due to forest fires. The fires have been intensified by high temperatures and strong winds prevailing in many parts of the country.
Spain and southern France are being hit by an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures reaching record levels of 45 degrees Celsius. The Spanish civil protection service has issued an emergency warning bulletin for an extreme risk of fire. High temperatures are not expected to subside before Thursday.
