New Zealand: 27-year-old traveled with child in suitcase

A 27-year-old woman from New Zealand was arrested after traveling by bus with a two-year-old girl locked inside a suitcase. According to police, the arrest occurred after the bus driver notified authorities.

The driver alerted the police when, during a stop in Kaiwaka, about 100 kilometers north of Auckland, he noticed movement inside a suitcase. Police officer Simon Harrison stated that the woman is accused of child abuse and neglect.

When the driver opened the suitcase, he found the two-year-old girl. The child, although very hot, appeared to be in good condition and is hospitalized for examination.
