New Zealand: 27-Year-Old Arrested for Traveling with Child in Suitcase

A 27-year-old woman was arrested in New Zealand after traveling on a bus with a two-year-old girl locked in a suitcase.

The bus driver alerted the police after noticing movement inside the suitcase during a stop in Kaiwaka. "When the driver opened the suitcase, he discovered the two-year-old girl," said police officer Simon Harrison.

The woman is accused of abuse and neglect of a minor. The child, although hot, appeared to be in good condition and is hospitalized for examination.
