Nicolas Sarkozy: En route to prison with his family

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy departed his Paris home on Tuesday, October 21st, with his wife, Carla Bruni, to be transferred to La Santé prison. He will serve a five-year sentence for conspiracy related to attempts to raise funds from Libya for his election campaign.

He is the first French leader to be imprisoned since Marshal Philippe Pétain.
