GĂ©rard Depardieu to Stand Trial for Rape
French actor GĂ©rard Depardieu will stand trial in Paris for rape and sexual assault against actress Charlotte Arnould. The decision was made after a multi-year investigation.
Arnould accused Depardieu in 2018, claiming she was raped twice in August 2018 at the actor's home in Paris. The case was initially put on hold due to lack of evidence but was later reopened.
Charlotte Arnould expressed relief at the case being referred to trial, while Depardieu denies the charges. The actor has already been sentenced to 18 months suspended imprisonment for sexual assault against other women.
