Hungary: Greek Man Honored for Rescuing Father and Daughter

21-year-old Greek kite surfer, Anastasios Garipis, was awarded the "Golden Medal of Honor" by Hungary for rescuing a Hungarian citizen and his daughter from drowning in Epanomi this summer.
The award ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Budapest. Stelios Garipis, Anastasios' father, announced the news via a social media post, emphasizing that the ceremony began with the Greek national anthem.
Anastasios Garipis stated that he did what was obvious, helping two people in need. Spanish wing surfing champion, Iset Segura, who also participated in the rescue, was also honored.
The event was attended by the Greek Ambassador Spyros Georgiles, Hungarian officials, and representatives of the Spanish government.
