Ukraine: 12 Dead in Kyiv – Fortified Cities Targeted

New Russian attacks in Ukraine, with 12 dead in Kyiv, including three children. The EU delegation building suffered serious damage.

The Russian army appears to be targeting fortified cities, such as Pokrovsk, in the Donetsk region. Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia remain "frozen."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the international community to impose new sanctions on Russia and urged China and Hungary to take a stand.

According to the Financial Times, Russia seeks to seize the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Ukrainian forces have created a "fortification zone" in northern Donetsk, with heavily fortified cities, to impede the advance of Russian forces.

The Russian army faces difficulties in capturing urban areas, as seen in the battles of Bakhmut and Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian forces have strengthened their defenses around Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
