Russian troops have advanced in a strategically important area near Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine, according to Ukrainian sources and analysts. The advance comes shortly before the Trump-Putin talks.

The Ukrainian General Staff announced fighting in Kutcheriv Yar, indicating a Russian advance. The DeepState website reported a rapid Russian advance along a road, posing a threat to Dobropillia.

The American ISW institute noted the infiltration of Russian groups near Dobropillia, calling the coming days "critical". Military blogger Sternenko reported the capture of sections of a road connecting important cities.

President Zelenskyy expressed fears of new Russian attacks and a possible Trump-Putin agreement that would force Ukraine to cede territory.

"We see that the Russian army is not preparing to end the war… they are making moves that indicate preparation for new attacks," Zelenskyy wrote.
