Ukraine: Dog Waits for Owner in Kyiv After Attack

The story of Jesse, a dog who stayed for two days in the ruins of an apartment building in Kyiv, searching for her owner who was killed in the Russian attack on August 28, has caused emotion.

Videos circulated showing Jesse howling and wandering near the destroyed entrance of the apartment building. Civil protection rescuers eventually adopted the dog, offering her a new home.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that Jesse's devotion touched everyone, and she has now found a new family.
