Peru: At Least 15 Dead in Bus Plunge into Ravine

At least 15 people were killed and 30 injured when a bus plunged into a 50-meter ravine in the Junín region of Peru, in the central Andes. The accident occurred in an area with winding roads.
According to RPP radio, the bus was carrying over 60 passengers and was traveling from Lima to La Merced in the Amazon.
Traffic accidents are frequent in Peru, often attributed to speeding, carelessness, poor road conditions, and lack of signage. In 2024, 3,173 people died on the country's roads.
