Nazi-looted Painting Found in Argentina Real Estate Ad

A painting looted by the Nazis during World War II was discovered by chance in a real estate advertisement in Argentina. The work, a portrait of Countess Colleoni painted by Fra Galgario (Vittore Ghislandi) in 1743, was hanging in a house advertised by Robles Casas & Campos.
The painting belonged to the Dutch Jewish collector Jacques Goudstikker, who helped Jews escape the Nazis. More than 800 of his works were confiscated. Following an investigation, journalists from the AD newspaper located Friedrich Kadgien, a former financial advisor to Hermann Göring, who had fled to Argentina. The house belonged to one of Kadgien's daughters.
Marei Von Saher, Goudstikker's heir, intends to take legal action to recover the painting. Another painting by Abraham Mignon, also owned by Goudstikker, was found on a social media page belonging to another of Kadgien's daughters.
