Very High Fire Risk on Saturday in Attica and 9 Other Regions

Almost the entire country will be on "orange" alert for fire tomorrow, Saturday (August 16, 2025), according to the Fire Risk Forecast Map.

A very high fire risk (risk category 4) is predicted for the following areas:

• Attica Region
• Peloponnese Region (Corinthia, Argolis)
• Western Greece Region (Achaia, Aetolia-Acarnania)
• Sterea Ellada Region (Phthiotis, Phocis, Boeotia, Evia including the island of Skyros)
• Thessaly Region (Sporades)
• Central Macedonia Region (Chalkidiki, including Mount Athos)
• Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region (Kavala, Thasos, Xanthi, Rhodope, Evros including the island of Samothrace)
• North Aegean Region (Lesvos, Lemnos)
• South Aegean Region (Rhodes, Karpathos)
• Crete Region (Heraklion, Lasithi)

The General Secretariat of Civil Protection has informed the relevant services and advises citizens to be especially careful, avoiding actions that could cause a fire due to negligence.

In case of fire, citizens are requested to immediately notify the Fire Service at 199.
