Civil Protection Warning for Severe Weather Conditions

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has issued recommendations to citizens in anticipation of worsening weather conditions. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected, starting in northwestern Greece on November 25, 2025, and extending to the entire western and northern part of the country, as well as the Eastern Aegean, from November 26, 2025.

Citizens are urged to secure objects, clear gutters and downspouts, and avoid crossing streams. Special caution is advised during hailstorms and intense lightning activity.

In case of lightning, citizens are advised to avoid using electrical appliances and plumbing at home. If in the car, stop it on the side of the road. Outdoors, seek shelter in a building or sit on the ground.

EMY forecasts that the bad weather will last until November 29, 2025 in the west and until November 30, 2025 in the east. Citizens can be informed about the evolution of the phenomena from the weather reports of EMY and the websites of ELAS and the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
