Fires in Zakynthos and Achaia: Evacuations and Injuries

Major fires are raging in Zakynthos and Achaia, with firefighters battling to extinguish them. Evacuations of settlements have taken place in both areas.

In Achaia, two people were injured with burns and taken to the hospital. In Zakynthos, the fire has surrounded the village of Agalas, with reports of burnt houses. 35 firefighters with 13 vehicles, 5 aircraft and 3 helicopters are operating. Water trucks from local authorities are providing assistance.

In Achaia, the fire is burning near residential areas, with strong winds exacerbating the situation.
