Rome: 85-year-old attacks 41-year-old with machete in the street

A serious incident occurred in Rome, where an 85-year-old man attacked a 41-year-old woman with a machete, shortly after she had dropped her children off at school.

According to Italian media, the elderly man allegedly ambushed the 41-year-old, who is his daughter-in-law. He injured her in the head and arms.

An off-duty Carabinieri officer intervened, disarming and immobilizing the perpetrator until the police arrived. The woman was taken to San Camillo Hospital, and her life is not in danger.

Authorities are investigating the motives for the attack.
