Kakavia Fire Subsided, Feneos Reignition Under Control

The fire in Kakavia, on the Greek-Albanian border, is subsiding. The fire started on the Albanian side and spread to a forest area in Neochori Ioannina, on the Greek side. 112 was activated for the precautionary evacuation of residents from Neochori and Ktismata towards Delvinaki.
According to the head of the Fire Department, the fire is under partial control, with limited smoke and no flames. Strong firefighting forces, including planes and helicopters, assisted in the extinguishing operation.
The situation is also better in Feneos, Corinthia, where the reignition west of the settlement of Lavka has been dealt with. Firefighters are working to contain smoke and hotspots within the already affected perimeter. 360 firefighters with ground teams, vehicles and volunteers are operating, supported by aerial resources.
