Serbia: Attack on Mother of Novi Sad Train Crash Victim

Supporters of President Aleksandar Vučić attacked Diana Hrka, the mother of a victim of the Novi Sad train crash, as she staged a hunger strike in front of the Serbian parliament. Hrka is demanding justice for the death of her son and 15 others in the accident, often referred to as the "Tempi of Serbia".

On Sunday, supporters of the president attacked with objects, flares, and stun grenades. Retaliatory actions followed from citizens supporting the hunger striker. Strong police forces intervened to prevent escalation.

The situation remains tense, with gatherings of supporters from both sides.
