Serbia: Violent Clashes in Anti-Government Protests

Violent clashes erupted for the fifth consecutive night in Serbian cities. In Valjevo, thousands of anti-government protesters gathered, and masked individuals set fire to offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).
Protesters attacked the police, who responded with stun grenades and tear gas. The protests began after a railway station roof collapsed in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, killing 16 people.
President Vučić denounces a conspiracy by foreign powers and refuses to call early elections, a demand made by protesters for months.
