EU Summit on Greenland to be Held on January 22

European Council President Antonio Costa is convening a physical Summit on January 22, focusing on developments in Greenland.

In a social media post, Mr. Costa emphasized the strong commitment of the "27" to international law, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty, as well as solidarity with Denmark and Greenland.

Brussels' stance recognizes the common transatlantic interest in peace and security in the Arctic, through cooperation with NATO. It is noted that tariffs would undermine transatlantic relations and are incompatible with the EU-US trade agreement.

Mr. Costa conveyed the readiness of the "27" to defend against any form of coercion and expressed the desire for constructive cooperation with Washington.
