Turkey: Wildfire in Dardanelles Forces Evacuation of Over 2,000

A large wildfire is raging in the Dardanelles region of Turkey, forcing the evacuation of over 2,000 people from their homes. The fire started in agricultural land near the town of Kepez and quickly spread due to strong winds.
Homes and cars have been destroyed, and dozens of people have been hospitalized. The firefighting efforts involve 10 firefighting aircraft, 9 helicopters, and 75 fire trucks, as well as hundreds of firefighters and support personnel.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated that some fires have been brought under control, but several hotspots remain active. In total, Turkey is battling 55 wildfires in various regions.
