Turkey: Hundreds Evacuated Due to Fires in Bursa

Fires continue to rage in Turkey, with over 3,500 residents evacuated from Bursa. A firefighter died from a heart attack, while three people were killed in an accident related to firefighting efforts.

İbrahim Yumaklı, the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, stated that 2,300 firefighters and rescuers are operating in the area, assisted by 850 vehicles, six aircraft, and four helicopters. Temperatures are expected to remain near 40° Celsius.

Another fire is burning in the province of Karabük, where over 1,800 people were evacuated from their homes. Turkish authorities warn that the situation will remain critical regarding forest fires until October.

According to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, over 3,000 fires have broken out in Turkey since the beginning of summer.
