Turkey: Turkish Airlines Flight Evacuated in Antalya Due to Smoke

A Turkish Airlines aircraft was evacuated at Antalya Airport in Turkey following reports of smoke during landing. Flight TK2430, a Boeing 777-300, had departed from Istanbul.

During taxiing, air traffic controllers noticed smoke coming from the landing gear and notified the pilot. The pilot ordered an immediate evacuation of the aircraft.

Reports indicate that 247 passengers and 13 crew members were safely evacuated using emergency slides. Videos circulating show passengers panicking as they evacuated the aircraft.

Enes Çakmak, head of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey, stated that aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) teams arrived at the scene immediately. Yahya Üstün, Vice President of Communications for Turkish Airlines, mentioned that the incident was caused by a technical malfunction in the hydraulic system.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.
