Turkey: Devastating Fires in Bursa – Evacuations and Traffic Disruptions

Scenes of devastation unfold in the province of Bursa, Turkey, where an uncontrolled fire threatens populated areas. The fire started in the Kestel and Gürsu regions, rapidly spreading due to strong winds and drought.

Authorities evacuated the village of Karahıdır and other settlements. Traffic was disrupted on the Bursa–Ankara highway. More than 1,300 people have been evacuated, while fire trucks and volunteers are trying to contain the fire. An investigation is underway into the causes of the fire.
