Turkey: Former Military Officer Confesses to Arson in Bursa Forest

A former Turkish military officer has reportedly confessed to setting fire to a forest in Bursa, using two bottles of gasoline. The man, who had been dismissed due to his ties to the Gülen movement (FETO), allegedly stated that he wanted to be sentenced to life imprisonment.
Turkish media report that the 30-year-old Ufuk Aytekin bought gasoline and set fire to trees in Kışmanlar Park. He reportedly suffered burns to his hands and feet.
Police are investigating the suspect's possible connections to other fires and the Gülen movement. Security camera footage captured Ufuk Aytekin buying gasoline from a gas station.
