Tragedy in Peru: 15 Dead After Bus Plunges into Ravine

At least 15 people have died and 30 were injured when a bus plunged into a ravine in the Junín region of Peru, in the Andes.
The bus, carrying more than 60 passengers, was traveling from Lima to La Merced when it veered off the road in a winding area and fell into a 50-meter deep ravine.
Traffic accidents are frequent in Peru due to speeding, carelessness, poor road conditions and lack of signage. According to police, 3,173 people have died on the country's roads in 2024.
