Bulgaria is expected to become the 21st member of the Eurozone on January 1, 2026. The President of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, confirmed the upcoming accession, emphasizing the critical period leading up to it.

The ECB will illuminate the southern facade of its headquarters in Frankfurt on New Year's Eve to mark Bulgaria's entry. The animated image will include the greeting "Welcome Bulgaria" in all languages of the Eurozone countries, as well as the presentation of the national side of the 50-cent, one-euro, and two-euro coins.

The video, lasting approximately four minutes, will be shown from January 1 to January 11, 2026, and will include visuals in the colors of the European Union, arranged in lines created by algorithms based on the music of the "Ode to Joy", the EU anthem.

The visual perception symbolizes "unity in diversity" and highlights both the European identity and the importance of expanding the Eurozone with the integration of Bulgaria.
