A 49-year-old British man, Philip Young, is accused of drugging and raping his ex-wife, Joanne Young, along with five other men, for 13 years. British police announced that the six men face more than 60 charges for rapes committed from 2010 to 2023.

Joanne Young, 48, has waived her right to anonymity. Philip Young has been arrested and remanded in custody. He allegedly administered a substance to his ex-wife to intoxicate and subdue her. He faces 56 offenses, including rape, voyeurism, and possession of indecent material.

Five other men are accused of raping Joanne Young: Norman Maxon, Dean Hamilton, Conner Sanderson Doyle, Richard Wilkins, and Mohammed Hassan. At least three of them, like the Youngs, lived in Swindon. All defendants have been released on bail.

The case is reminiscent of the Gisèle Pelicot case in France, where her husband drugged her and recruited strangers online to rape her.
