UK: Peter Mandelson Arrested in Epstein Scandal

Former British Ambassador Peter Mandelson has been arrested in London in connection with the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. The Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 72-year-old man for "misconduct in public office," without naming him.

Mandelson was removed from his position in September after revelations about his friendly relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. The police launched an investigation following allegations that Mandelson passed sensitive information to Epstein during his tenure as Secretary of State for Business in Gordon Brown's government.

Documents released in the US allegedly show that Mandelson leaked information while holding government office and during Tony Blair's administration. He denies the allegations.

According to The Times, his arrest was based on the same charge under which former Prince Andrew was arrested.
