Boeing Workers Strike at Fighter Jet Plants

Approximately 3,200 Boeing workers in Missouri and Illinois have gone on strike after rejecting a new collective bargaining agreement proposal. The strike impacts the production of fighter jets.
The IAM (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) union announced that its members rejected the revised proposal, which included wage increases of up to 40%. Union representative Tom Bellig stated that members deserve a contract that reflects their dedication.
Boeing Vice President Dan Gillian expressed disappointment and announced a contingency plan to maintain production. Boeing has been under pressure due to production quality issues and a previous strike.
Boeing's stock rose following the announcement of CEO Dave Calhoun's resignation.
