Boeing Strike: 3,200 Workers Walk Out at Fighter Jet Plants

Approximately 3,200 Boeing workers at fighter jet production plants in Missouri and Illinois have gone on strike after rejecting the latest collective bargaining agreement proposal.
The IAM (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) union announced that its members rejected the proposal, which included wage increases of 40%. The strike began at midnight on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Tom Bellinger, a representative of the union, stated that workers deserve a contract that reflects their skills and their role in the country's defense. Boeing management expressed disappointment at the workers' decision and announced that it has a contingency plan to continue serving its customers.
Boeing has been facing quality issues in its production and has experienced strike actions in the past.
