Trump Tariffs: 6 Product Categories Set to Become More Expensive for Americans
Share on:

Tariffs imposed by Donald Trump are expected to increase costs for American consumers across various product categories. These tariffs, levied on import companies, have already led to price increases and are expected to significantly impact American purchasing power.

Clothing and Footwear: With the majority of clothing and footwear sold in the US manufactured abroad, tariffs of up to 35% on products from countries like China, Vietnam, and Bangladesh are expected to increase prices by a staggering 37% in the short term.

Food: Almost all coffee consumed in the US is imported, and tariffs are also imposed on essential products like olive oil. Food prices are expected to rise by 3.4%.

Beer, Wine, and Spirits: Tariffs on aluminum are expected to increase the prices of Mexican beers served in cans. Meanwhile, there is uncertainty as to whether European alcoholic beverages will be included in tariff agreements.

Cars: Although tariffs on imported vehicles have been reduced to 15% for some countries, they have not yet led to a sharp increase in prices. However, as costs rise, it is unclear how long this situation will last.

Homes: Tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper, as well as potential tariffs on lumber, are expected to increase the cost of home construction.

Energy and Fuels: Tariffs on energy exports from Canada, the largest supplier of crude oil to the US, could increase fuel prices.
