EU Proposes to Lift Tariffs on US Industrial Products

The European Union (EU) is planning to submit a proposal to completely eliminate tariffs on all US industrial products. This move responds to a demand from United States President Donald Trump, who has set the reduction of tariffs on EU car exports by 27.5% as a prerequisite.
According to reports, the Commission will also offer preferential tariffs on certain fisheries and agricultural products. Despite the fact that the agreement is considered to favor the US, Brussels considers it necessary to ensure stability for businesses. Ursula von der Leyen had described the agreement as "strong, though not perfect."
The initiative comes at a time when Trump is threatening new tariffs on countries that tax online services, targeting the EU's stance towards American technology companies such as Google and Apple.
