Europe: Bond Issuance Freezes Amid Middle East Tensions

Bond issuance in Europe is freezing due to the geopolitical uncertainty caused by the crisis in the Middle East. According to Bloomberg, no new debt issuance in euros, pounds, or dollars was recorded in the European market on Monday.
Companies planning to proceed with bond sales chose to withdraw due to widespread uncertainty and rising credit-risk indicators.
Marco Baldini, head of international investment grade issuance at Barclays, said the market is in a wait-and-see mode, with communications between bankers and issuers being canceled.
This development contrasts with analysts' forecasts, who expected issuances that could exceed €50 billion for the current week.
