Iraq Denies Rodents Ate Trillions of Dinars in Central Bank

An economic advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister has denied rumors that rodents ate trillions of dinars inside the country's Central Bank.
The rumors alleged that mice and rats consumed 62 trillion dinars, an amount equivalent to approximately 41 billion euros.
The advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, Shia Al-Sudani, described these reports as "absurd," according to Rudaw.
Other sources close to the government stated that the amount of 62 trillion dinars is improbably large, as the total amount of money circulating in the country does not exceed 100 trillion dinars.
The Jerusalem Post reports that it is not unlikely that rodents ate some of the money circulating in the country, as 88% of the money is outside the banking system, stored in poor conditions.
