Foreign Doctors in the US: Exemption from Work Visa Fee?
Share on:

Foreign doctors seeking to work in the US may be exempt from the $100,000 work visa fee, according to Bloomberg.

The White House had announced the imposition of the fee for foreigners seeking to secure an H-1B visa, which mainly concerns scientists, engineers, and programmers. However, 'case-by-case exemptions' are foreseen for reasons of 'national interest'.

A Bloomberg journalist reported in a post on platform X, citing White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers, that doctors may be included in these exemptions.

In addition, the White House clarified that the fee will only apply to new applications and not renewals, following concerns expressed by India and companies that could be affected.
