Lagarde: Criticism of Europe as an Opportunity for Self-Assessment

Christine Lagarde, head of the European Central Bank, thanked those who criticize Europe, considering these criticisms as an opportunity for self-assessment. The statement was made during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Lagarde stressed that criticism helps Europe focus more on innovation and improving productivity. She also referred to the criticism leveled by Donald Trump at Europe's weaknesses, as well as the regret expressed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding Europe's fragmented image.

Lagarde emphasized the importance of trust and truth, noting that trust has been undermined. She also referred to the need to pay attention to the distribution of wealth and the increase in inequalities.

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, warned that global growth remains insufficient and that debt is a heavy burden.
