Xi Jinping to BRICS Leaders: "Resist All Forms of Protectionism"

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the BRICS countries to "resist all forms of protectionism" during a video conference held by the leaders of this group of emerging economies.

"We must support the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core and resist all forms of protectionism," he said from Beijing.

The BRICS video conference was convened by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva with the topic of discussion being the "defense of multilateral cooperation."
