Trump: EU Tariffs Won't Drop Below 15%

US President Donald Trump stated that tariffs on European exports will not fall below 15%. The statement was made during a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
The meeting took place at Trump's golf course in Turnberry, western Scotland. Trump expressed cautious optimism about reaching a trade agreement with the EU, estimating the chances at 50-50.
Trump stressed that August 1st is the deadline for all agreements except steel and aluminum. He also expressed dissatisfaction with Brussels' stance, saying that the European market is too closed.
Von der Leyen described Trump as a "tough negotiator" and stressed that any agreement should be based on fairness and balance.
Additionally, Trump mentioned that his government is "close" to an agreement with China, without providing further details.
