US President Donald Trump hosted oil executives at the White House, urging them to invest in Venezuela's oil reserves following the American intervention in Caracas and the arrest of Nicolás Maduro. Trump assured the security of investments, but some expressed reservations.

Major companies including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Eni, and Repsol attended the meeting. Trump claimed investments could reach $100 billion under US supervision.

ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods voiced concerns due to past asset seizures. In contrast, Chevron appeared more positive. ConocoPhillips stated it appreciated the discussion on Venezuela's investment readiness.

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright acknowledged that restarting oil production in Venezuela, which holds the world's largest crude oil reserves, would take time.

Washington prefers to communicate with interim president Delsy Rodriguez, dictating her decisions.
